Kirk Franklin, the Grammy-winning Gospel singer, has embraced the long-standing joke that he looks like rapper Plies. In a recent interview with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay, Franklin shared his thoughts on the viral comparison and why he has not met Plies yet.

Franklin said that he first heard about the joke from his son, who showed him a meme of him and Plies side by side. Franklin admitted that he was amused by the resemblance and that he has no problem with Plies, whom he described as a "talented brother".

However, Franklin also said that he has not reached out to Plies or vice versa, because he thinks that they have different audiences and messages. Franklin said that he respects Plies' artistry, but he does not want to confuse his fans or compromise his faith by associating with him.

Franklin said that he hopes to meet Plies one day and have a conversation with him, but he also joked that he would need a DNA test to prove that they are not related. He said that he is proud of his family and his heritage, and that he does not mind being compared to Plies as long as it is done in good humor.
