Rapper and actor Michael Rapaport has criticized Kanye West for his recent comments that suggested Jewish people have a "plan" to take over the world.
West, who has been vocal about his support for former President Donald Trump, made the controversial remarks during an interview with podcaster Joe Rogan on Saturday.
He said: "We as Black people, we have to take responsibility for what we're doing. We kill each other more than police officers. And that's a fact. And we have to address that. That's a Jewish plan. That's an Israeli plan. That's a plan for world domination. And it's been executed to perfection."
Rapaport, who is Jewish, took to Twitter to blast West for his antisemitic rant, calling him a "clown" and a "disgrace".
He wrote: "Kanye West is a clown. A clown who thinks he's a genius. A clown who thinks he's a leader. A clown who thinks he's a visionary. A clown who thinks he's a prophet. A clown who thinks he's a messiah. A clown who thinks he's a god. He's none of those things. He's a clown."
He added: "Kanye West is a disgrace. A disgrace to his mother, who was a professor and an activist. A disgrace to his father, who was a photographer and a counselor. A disgrace to his fans, who supported him through his ups and downs. A disgrace to his community, who looked up to him as a role model. A disgrace to his culture, who celebrated him as a pioneer. A disgrace to his faith, who prayed for him as a brother. He's a disgrace."
Rapaport also urged West to seek professional help for his mental health issues, which he has publicly struggled with in the past.
He said: "Kanye West needs help. Help from a therapist, a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a counselor, a coach, a mentor, a guide, a friend, a family member, anyone who can help him. He needs help to heal his mind, his soul, his spirit, his heart, his ego, his pride, his anger, his pain, his trauma, his wounds, his scars, his demons, his fears, his insecurities, his delusions, his illusions, his fantasies, his nightmares, his dreams. He needs help."
Rapaport concluded his tweetstorm by saying that he hopes West will realize the error of his ways and apologize to the Jewish people and the world for his offensive and hateful comments.
He said: "Kanye West is a human being. A human being who is flawed, who is broken, who is hurting, who is lost, who is confused, who is misguided, who is misled, who is deceived, who is manipulated, who is exploited, who is used, who is abused, who is betrayed, who is abandoned, who is lonely, who is sad, who is angry, who is bitter, who is resentful, who is hateful, who is spiteful, who is vengeful, who is fearful, who is insecure, who is delusional, who is illusional, who is fantastical, who is nightmarish, who is dreamy. He's a human being. And I hope he finds his way back to reality, to truth, to love, to peace, to joy, to happiness, to harmony, to balance, to wisdom, to understanding, to compassion, to empathy, to forgiveness, to grace, to mercy, to humility, to gratitude, to respect, to dignity, to honor, to integrity, to honesty, to decency, to kindness, to generosity, to charity, to service, to contribution, to purpose, to meaning, to fulfillment, to enlightenment, to salvation, to redemption, to healing, to recovery, to restoration, to transformation, to growth, to evolution, to revolution, to revelation, to inspiration, to creation, to expression, to art, to music, to poetry, to beauty, to wonder, to awe, to magic, to miracle, to faith, to hope, to love. He's a human being. And I hope he apologizes to the Jewish people and the world for his antisemitic rant. He's a human being. And I hope he finds his way back to being Kanye West. The Kanye West we used to love."
