Cindy Crawford Opens Up About “Survivor Guilt” After Brother’s Death

By Nika Shakhnazarova

Former supermodel Cindy Crawford recently shared her experience of “survivor guilt” following her brother Jeffrey’s death from leukemia at the age of 3. In an emotional interview on the “Kelly Corrigan Wonders” podcast, Crawford revealed that her father, John Crawford, had longed for a son before Jeffrey was born.

Crawford and her sisters, Chris and Danielle, grappled with the loss, feeling the weight of guilt. “We felt like ‘Well, it should’ve been one of us,’” Crawford explained. Despite seeking therapy, the nightmares persisted—echoing the sentiment that Jeffrey’s life should have been spared.

Reflecting on the past, Crawford emphasized how differently death was approached back then. As a 9-year-old returning to school after her brother’s passing, she encountered silence from classmates, except for one who bluntly asked, “I saw in the paper your brother’s dead. Is that true?”

Crawford’s candid account sheds light on the complexities of grief and the impact it has on families. Stay tuned for more updates on celebrity stories and personal experiences.
