Ice Cube Backs Drake as GOAT Contender, Reflects on Early Encounter

In a recent interview, iconic rapper Ice Cube weighed in on Drake's status in the hip-hop world, suggesting that the Toronto artist deserves a spot in the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) debate. Ice Cube praised Drake’s lyrical prowess and impact, stating, "Drake deserves to be in the GOAT debate. He deserves to be in the conversation. He has something most rappers don't have. Him and Kanye. And he's lyrically very good."

Addressing criticisms about Drake's songwriting credits, Ice Cube dismissed concerns about ghostwriters, emphasizing, "Forget all the ghost writer sh** because no one can actually prove that, and even if he does, it can't be on all his sh**." He highlighted Drake’s talent and influence, noting, "This guy has written songs for people too."

Ice Cube also recalled an early encounter with a young artist from Toronto who he believes was Drake. He shared, "I do remember somebody bringing a CD to my bus from a youngster in Toronto, and the kid was damn good. And I always keep thinking that had to be Drake."

This endorsement from Ice Cube adds significant weight to Drake's legacy as he continues to shape the landscape of modern hip-hop.
