Police Attempt to Arrest Nicki Minaj in Amsterdam for Alleged Drug Possession

In a dramatic turn of events on Saturday, authorities in Amsterdam attempted to arrest rap superstar Nicki Minaj for alleged drug possession. The incident unfolded on Instagram Live and was further documented through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) shared by the artist.

The Grammy-nominated rapper, 41, was confronted by an official at what appeared to be an airport. The officer stated that Minaj needed to be taken into custody for allegedly “carrying drugs,” a charge she vehemently denied. "I’m not going in there. I need a lawyer present," Minaj protested in the live video.

Despite her initial resistance, Minaj eventually complied and was seen entering a police vehicle. Her primary concern was the impact on her scheduled performance in Manchester, UK, as part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. An officer reassured her that efforts would be made to get her to the concert as soon as possible .

Minaj took to X to express her frustrations, revealing that authorities claimed to have found marijuana among her belongings and needed to weigh the pre-rolls. "Now they said they found weed & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls," she tweeted. She accused security of taking her bags without consent, asserting that the pre-rolls belonged to her security team. "Keep in mind they took my bags without consent. My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him," she added.

In a video on Instagram, an official informed Minaj that all her bags required searching, prompting her to question why the search wasn’t conducted before boarding the plane. The officer responded that a random check had been performed, but now a thorough search was necessary.

Amsterdam allows individuals to possess up to 5 grams of cannabis legally, but it remains unclear if other substances were found. As of the latest updates, Minaj posted on X that she had been taken to a police precinct to make a statement about her security team.

Page Six reached out to Minaj's representatives and Amsterdam authorities for further comments but had not received a response by the time of publication. The situation's resolution remains uncertain, including whether Minaj will face any legal consequences or if her Manchester concert will proceed as planned.

Minaj's followers and fans are eagerly awaiting more information, while the incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media.
