MIAMI, FL - The lawyers of Kodak Black have requested the courts to spare the rapper from jail time and instead enroll him in a 90-day treatment program in Arizona.

According to NBC Miami, the "Wake Up in the Sky" rapper and his legal team appeared in a South Florida courthouse on Tuesday (December 19) to plead for the judge's leniency.

The rapper, whose real name is Bill K. Kapri, is facing multiple charges, including sexual assault, weapons possession, and probation violation.

His lawyers argued that he suffers from mental health issues and substance abuse problems, and that he would benefit from a rehabilitation program that would address his underlying issues and help him turn his life around.

They proposed that he be sent to a facility in Arizona that specializes in treating celebrities and high-profile clients, and that he be allowed to continue his music career while under supervision.

The judge did not make a decision on the request, but said he would consider it and set a hearing date for January 2023.

Kodak Black has been in and out of jail since he was a teenager, and has faced numerous legal troubles throughout his career.

He is currently awaiting trial for a sexual assault case in South Carolina, where he is accused of raping a teenage girl in a hotel room in 2016.

He is also facing federal charges for lying on background check forms to buy firearms in Florida, and for illegally possessing a weapon as a convicted felon.

He was sentenced to 46 months in prison in November 2020, but was granted a presidential pardon by former President Donald Trump in January 2021.

However, his pardon did not affect his state charges, and he was arrested again in March 2021 for violating the terms of his probation.

He has since been released on bond, but remains under house arrest and GPS monitoring.

The rapper has expressed remorse for his actions and has vowed to change his ways.

He has also donated money and gifts to various charities and causes, such as providing scholarships, toys, and food to underprivileged children and families.

He has also released new music, including his latest album "Haitian Boy Kodak", which debuted at number 18 on the Billboard 200 chart in May 2021.
