Kid Cudi, the rapper and actor known for his groundbreaking albums and roles, has revealed that he is working on a memoir and a new animated movie, both set to be released in 2024.

The memoir, titled CUDI By Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, will chronicle Cudi's life and career, from his humble beginnings in Cleveland to his rise to fame and his struggles with mental health and addiction.

Cudi shared the news on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday (December 15), saying that he hopes to inspire his fans and readers to live their dreams and keep God close.

He also said that writing the memoir has brought him peace and joy, as he reflected on the moments, people, and experiences that shaped him.

The memoir is expected to drop in September 2024, and will be published by Penguin Random House.

The animated movie, titled Slime, will mark Cudi's debut as a producer and star in a feature film. He will collaborate with Jeron Braxton, an award-winning animator and director, and Brian Ash, a writer and producer of popular shows like The Boondocks and Black Dynamite.

Slime is a horror-comedy that follows Muna, a young woman who signs up for a medical trial and gets injected with a mysterious slime that gives her supernatural powers and visions.

She then kidnaps Glenn, a lab worker played by Cudi, and they embark on a wild adventure to find a cure and escape from a sinister corporation.

Cudi said that he is excited to work with Braxton and Ash, and that he wants to bring something new and innovative to the animation genre.

He also said that he is proud of his Mad Solar production company, which he founded in 2022 to create diverse and original content.

Slime is slated to premiere on Netflix in October 2024, and will feature a soundtrack by Cudi and other artists.

Cudi is no stranger to animation, as he previously starred and executive produced the Netflix musical series Entergalactic, based on his 2022 album of the same name.

The series, which was co-created by Kenya Barris, received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Animated Program in 2023.

Cudi is also known for his acting roles in movies like Need for Speed, James White, and Bill & Ted Face the Music, and TV shows like How to Make It in America, Westworld, and We Are Who We Are.

He is currently working on his next album, Vultures, which will feature collaborations with Kanye West, Travis Scott, and Pharrell Williams.

Cudi recently reunited with West at the listening party for Vultures, where they performed their joint album Kids See Ghosts and squashed their past beef.

Cudi has been praised by critics and fans for his innovative and influential music, which blends genres like hip hop, rock, pop, and psychedelia.

He is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of emo rap, and has inspired a generation of artists like Drake, Frank Ocean, and Lil Uzi Vert.

Cudi has sold over 16 million records worldwide, and has won three Grammy Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and a Billboard Music Award.

He is also a philanthropist and an advocate for mental health awareness, having openly shared his struggles with depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts.

He has supported various causes and organizations, such as the JED Foundation, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and the Trevor Project.
