Ludacris and Lil Jon have joined forces to celebrate their old friend Usher, who is gearing up to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday (February 12).

The two rappers, who collaborated with Usher on the hit song “Yeah!” in 2004, appeared in a new commercial for Apple Music, which was released on Thursday. The commercial, which was dubbed as a “mini movie”, also featured actress Taraji P. Henson, who played a fan of Usher.

The commercial showed Ludacris and Lil Jon arriving at Usher’s mansion, where they were greeted by Henson, who was wearing a Usher T-shirt and dancing to his songs. Henson then invited them to join her in watching Usher’s Apple Music playlist, which included some of his classic hits and new tracks.

The commercial also featured some clips of Usher rehearsing for his highly anticipated halftime show, which will take place at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Usher, who has won eight Grammy Awards and sold over 80 million records worldwide, is expected to deliver a spectacular performance that will showcase his vocal and dancing skills.

The commercial ended with Ludacris, Lil Jon, and Henson cheering for Usher and saying “Yeah!” in unison, as a voice-over announced: “Usher. Super Bowl Halftime Show. Only on Apple Music.”

The commercial was directed by Dave Meyers, who has worked with Usher on several music videos, such as “Yeah!”, “Burn”, and “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love”. Meyers also directed the Super Bowl Halftime Show commercials for Jennifer Lopez and Shakira in 2020, and The Weeknd in 2021.

The commercial was praised by fans and critics, who expressed their excitement for Usher’s halftime show and appreciated the reunion of Ludacris and Lil Jon with him. The commercial also generated a lot of buzz on social media, where many users shared their reactions and memes.

Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show will air on Sunday (February 12) at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
