Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga has praised the performance of Kenya’s under-18 team after they hammered Sudan 5-0 in the ongoing CEO Challenge Cup in Nairobi.
The Kenyan striker, who plays for Al-Duhail SC in Qatar, was following the match on his social media pages and posted the results on his Twitter and Instagram accounts.
He expressed his happiness and satisfaction with the young players, who showed great talent and skill in the tournament.
“Congratulations to our junior stars for their amazing win against Sudan. You have made us proud and shown the world that Kenya has a bright future in football. Keep up the good work and all the best in the remaining matches,” Olunga wrote.
Kenya scored through Luiz Ingavi, who is a former Goseta Boys striker based in the USA. Ingavi, who currently plays for Montverde Academy, where he joined in September 2023, netted two goals in the first half.
Aldrin Kibet added the third goal in the second half, before Tyrone Kariuki and Elly Owande completed the rout in the dying minutes of the game.
It was a wonderful display by the junior stars, who are looking to impress the national team selectors and secure a place in the senior squad.
