Sexyy Red is not happy with the latest AI scam that has targeted her voice. The “Pound Town” rapper has announced that she is suing the company behind the fraudulent video that uses her voice to lure unsuspecting victims into a stimulus check scam.

The video, which was shared by user NateRuns on Tuesday (November 21), features a digitized version of Sexyy Red’s voice claiming that “the government be handin’ out stacks to y’all,” and urging them to click on a link to get their “free money.” The link, however, leads to a phishing site that steals the personal information of the users.

Sexyy Red responded to the video on Thursday (November 23), writing, “My lawyer bout to have a field day.” She also retweeted a similar video that used Cardi B’s voice for the same scam, and expressed her solidarity with the “Bodak Yellow” rapper, who also threatened to sue the scammers.

Sexyy Red and Cardi B are not the only celebrities who have been victimized by AI voice theft. According to a report by The Verge, several other stars, including Beyoncé, Drake, and Barack Obama, have had their voices cloned by AI software and used for various purposes, such as deepfake videos, prank calls, and impersonations.

AI voice cloning is a technology that allows anyone to create a synthetic copy of someone’s voice by using a large amount of audio samples and a neural network. The technology has been advancing rapidly in recent years, and has become more accessible and affordable for the public. However, it also poses serious ethical and legal issues, such as privacy, consent, and identity theft.

Sexyy Red, who has been dubbed as the “modern day Boosie” by some fans, has been making waves in the rap scene with her explicit and catchy songs, such as “Pound Town” and “SkeeYee.” She recently announced that she will be releasing kid-friendly versions of her tracks, after a viral video of a ballet teacher complaining about her young students requesting to hear her music.

Sexyy Red has not revealed the name of the company that she is suing, or the amount of damages that she is seeking. She has also not commented on whether she will be collaborating with Cardi B or any other artists who have been affected by the AI voice scam.
