E-40 says the current state of Hip-Hop has a lot of copycats

E-40 and Lil Yachty have recently spoken out about the current state of Hip-Hop. E-40, in a recent interview with CBS Mornings, expressed his concern about the lack of creativity in the industry. He said that new rappers are being "copy cats" and that everyone sounds the same. He added that he is a storyteller and talks about the repercussions and consequences of certain actions ¹. latest movies here



Lil Yachty, in a Rolling Stone interview with Tierra Whack, echoed E-40's sentiments. He said that the state of Hip Hop right now is a lot of imitation, quick, low-quality music being put out, and a lot less originality. He added that people are too safe now and that he would rather take the risk than take the L ².


Yachty also discussed on his podcast, A Safe Place, that even record labels have pulled back on funding of Hip Hop as far as what contracts are looking like and what budgets are being put into Hip Hop artists. He said that it's all been scaled back on funding and that people aren't supporting Hip-Hop like they once did because there is a decline in content ².
