Ice-T may be a cool rapper and a tough cop on TV, but he's not a fan of one holiday tradition: matching pajamas.
The Law & Order: SVU star's wife, Coco Austin, revealed to E! News why her husband refuses to join her and their 6-year-old daughter, Chanel, in wearing festive sleepwear every year.
"He hates them," Coco said with a laugh. "He thinks they're corny. He's like, 'I'm not wearing that. I'm not wearing that.'"
Coco, who loves to dress up her daughter in matching outfits, said she tries to persuade Ice-T every year, but he always declines. "I'm like, 'Come on, it's cute. It's a family thing.' He's like, 'No, it's not. It's stupid.'"
The model and reality star said she respects Ice-T's decision, but she doesn't let it stop her and Chanel from having fun. "We do it anyway," she said. "We just leave him out."
Coco shared some photos of her and Chanel rocking their matching pajamas on Instagram, and they looked adorable. The mother-daughter duo wore red and white striped onesies with Santa hats and reindeer antlers.
"Chanel & I are always down for the cause.. We love our holiday PJs!," Coco captioned the post.
She also posted a video of them dancing and singing along to Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You."
"Chanel & I are in full Christmas mode!!," she wrote. "We're feeling the spirit!!"
Ice-T may not be into the matching pajamas, but he does enjoy spending quality time with his family during the holidays. Coco said they usually travel to Arizona, where her parents live, and celebrate with a big feast.
"We have a huge Christmas dinner," she said. "We have turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, green beans, macaroni and cheese, rolls, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, apple pie, pecan pie. We have everything."
Coco said Ice-T also likes to spoil her and Chanel with gifts. "He's very generous," she said. "He always gets me something nice. He always gets Chanel something nice. He's a good gift-giver."
Coco said she's grateful for her family and their health, especially after Ice-T's father-in-law contracted COVID-19 last year and had a long recovery.
"We're just happy to be alive and healthy," she said. "That's the main thing."
