Fabolous is known for his witty wordplay and sharp punchlines, and he showcased them once again in his latest freestyle over SZA's hit song "Snooze". The rapper, who has been dropping a series of Friday Freestyles since late last year, apologized for the delay and explained that he had some "technical difficulties" that prevented him from releasing the track on time.

However, he made up for it by dropping the freestyle on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 15), a fitting occasion for the Brooklyn native to pay homage to the civil rights icon and other influential figures in his lyrics. He also referenced current events and pop culture, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the Capitol riot, the NBA, and Michael Jackson.

Some of the standout lines include:

- "I'm a rebel with a cause, I don't settle for applause / I need a medal or award, like Dr. King when he led us to the laws"

- "It's kinda hard to play Jermaine when you really Mike Jack / They hate when you in L.A., put the towel in your mouth, it's nothing you can tell me"

- "Don't snooze and miss the moment / You with a winner now don't lose like my opponents / Sex you back to sleep like I use some melatonin / Then that's word to Chris Brown I'm deuces in the morning"

The freestyle, which was accompanied by a lavish video shot in a mansion, received rave reviews from fans and fellow artists, who praised Fabolous for his consistent delivery and clever rhymes. The track is part of his Friday Night Freestyles project, which features 15 tracks over classic beats from the likes of Dr. Dre, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, and more.
