Fabolous is back with another freestyle Friday release, and this time he is giving his fans some insight into his clever wordplay. The rapper dropped his “OSHO Freestyle” on January 6, along with a video directed by Drevinciwrks1. The song features Fabolous rapping over a sample of OSHO’s “I’m Not In Love” and delivering some witty bars about his lifestyle, relationships, and rap skills.

To help his listeners catch some of the references and metaphors that he used in the freestyle, Fabolous took to his Instagram Story on Thursday (January 11) and shared a series of photos that correspond to some of his lines. For example, to explain the line: “You know how I rolls/Ghost up at the club like Omari, Power role,” Fab provided a picture of a Rolls Royce and Omari Hardwick in the club in his role on Power as Ghost2Another line that Fab illustrated with a photo was: “Rebels with the long arm/Stacy Aug-Mon/They hate when you in LV/Put the towel in your mouth, it’s nothing you can tell me.” The photo showed the UNLV men’s basketball team, the Rebels, who are currently coached by Stacey Augmon following the death of Jerry Tarkanian - who famously chewed on wet towels as a game ritual3.

Fabolous’ fans appreciated his visual breakdown of his “OSHO Freestyle” and praised him for his creativity and lyricism. Some of his followers also commented on his previous freestyle, which sparked some controversy for allegedly dissing his stepdaughter, Taina Williams. On his “Selfish Freestyle”, which he released on December 30, Fabolous rapped: “Selfishness will make someone comment under your pic/When he took care of you and your mama since you were six/Who selfish?/Maybe we all are.” This was seen as a response to Taina’s since-deleted comment on Fabolous’ birthday post for his daughter Journey, where she accused him of not taking care of his daughter and being bitter4.

Fabolous has not addressed the issue publicly, but he seems to be focused on his music and his freestyle series. It is not clear if he is planning to drop a new project soon, but his fans are eagerly waiting for more of his bars and visuals.
