Tamera Mowry, one half of the famous twin duo from the hit sitcom “Sister, Sister”, has given her seal of approval to Doja Cat and Rico Nasty for their song “Tia & Tamera”, which pays homage to the sisters.
On Friday (January 19), Mowry posted a video on her Instagram account, where she reacted to various rap songs that referenced her and her twin, Tia. She rated each song on a scale of one to five, based on the lyrics, the flow, and the overall vibe.
Mowry praised Doja Cat and Rico Nasty for their catchy chorus and clever wordplay, and awarded them a perfect score of five. She also complimented their outfits and hairstyles in the music video, which were inspired by the twins’ iconic looks from the 90s.
Mowry also enjoyed songs by Lil Yachty, Saweetie, and Megan Thee Stallion, but gave them lower scores for either being too explicit or too repetitive. She also expressed her surprise and gratitude for being mentioned by so many artists, and said that she felt honored and flattered.
Mowry’s video received over 300,000 views and thousands of comments from her fans, who appreciated her sense of humor and her support for the rap community. Many also suggested other songs that she should listen to and rank, such as “Sister, Sister” by Young Thug and “Twinning” by Lil Keed and Lil Gotit.
Mowry and her sister Tia rose to fame in the 90s with their popular show “Sister, Sister”, which followed the adventures of two identical twins who were separated at birth and reunited as teenagers. The show ran for six seasons and won several awards, including four NAACP Image Awards and two Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
The sisters have since pursued their own careers in acting, hosting, and producing, but have remained close and supportive of each other. They also have their own reality show, “Tia & Tamera”, which aired for three seasons on the Style Network.
Doja Cat and Rico Nasty are two of the most prominent female rappers in the industry, known for their versatile styles and collaborations. Their song “Tia & Tamera” was released in 2019 and peaked at number 83 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has been praised for its catchy hook, witty lyrics, and nostalgic references to the twins and their show.
