Jermaine Dupri has been teasing fans with a new single featuring some of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B, and now the wait is over. The legendary producer and rapper has released "This Lil' Game We Play", a remake of the 1994 hit by Subway and 702.
The new version of the song, which samples the original's smooth and sensual melody, features Nelly, Ashanti, and Juicy J, who add their own flair and flavor to the track. Dupri, who also raps on the song, said he wanted to pay homage to the 90s R&B era that he grew up in and influenced his sound.
"I've always loved this song, and I wanted to bring it back to life with some of the artists that I respect and admire," Dupri said in a press release. "Nelly, Ashanti, and Juicy J are all legends in their own right, and they bring a fresh and modern twist to the classic. I hope the fans enjoy it as much as we did making it."
"This Lil' Game We Play" is the first single from Dupri's upcoming album, which is expected to drop later this year. The album will feature more collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry, as well as new talent that Dupri has discovered and mentored.
Dupri, who is also the founder of So So Def Recordings, has been one of the most influential figures in music for over two decades, producing and writing hits for artists such as Mariah Carey, Usher, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, and many more. He has won four Grammy Awards and has
