Nicki Minaj has officially announced the second North American leg of her highly anticipated Pink Friday 2 World Tour. The rap superstar took to Instagram on Wednesday (May 29) to reveal 22 additional stops, set to kick off in September in Philadelphia.
The tour will hit major cities across the United States, including Washington, DC, Miami, Dallas, and Los Angeles, before concluding with a homecoming show in Queens in October. Notably, Minaj will perform back-to-back nights in Los Angeles, making up for the lack of an official LA stop on the previous leg, where her Rolling Loud performance served as her Southern California appearance.
Currently performing on the European leg of her tour, Minaj faced a significant setback over the weekend when she had to cancel her Manchester show due to an arrest in Amsterdam. During a livestream on Stationhead, Minaj expressed her frustration and dismay over the "disgusting" treatment she experienced during the arrest, suggesting that race may have played a role
“Not being able to get to Manchester, I don’t know when was the last time I felt that low,” she said. “Knowing that something is being done to you on purpose simply because you are a confident other race […] The treatment was just disgusting, and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.”
Minaj was detained on suspicion of “possessing soft drugs” while en route to Manchester. She livestreamed the arrest, capturing a member of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee informing her of the charges. Though she was later released, Minaj will have to pay a fine determined by the public prosecution service.
The Manchester concert has been rescheduled for June 3, ensuring fans will still get to see the performance.
