Usher To Be Honored With Lifetime Achievement Award At 2024 BET Awards

Usher is set to receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 BET Awards, cementing his status as a titan in the music industry.

BET announced the news via Instagram on Thursday, writing: "We got a confession. U-S-H-E-R is this year’s LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT HONOREE at the #BETAwards! We’ve watched this icon give us LEGENDARY moments on our stage. Now it’s time for us to return the favor and give him his flowers at #CulturesBiggestNight!”

Usher joins an esteemed list of previous recipients, including Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Queen Latifah, and Mary J. Blige.

This year, he is also nominated for four BET Awards, including Album of the Year for *Coming Home*, Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, and Best Collaboration for “Good Good” with 21 Savage and Summer Walker.

Adding to his accolades, Usher will also be honored with the ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award next month. This award is given to ASCAP members who have significantly influenced music and culture. Usher will receive this honor at a special event in Los Angeles on June 27, celebrating top R&B and soul music songwriters and publishers.

This recognition caps a phenomenal year for Usher. He headlined the Super Bowl halftime show, drawing a record 123.4 million viewers, surpassing previous performances by Dr.

Dre and Rihanna. Usher also completed a successful 100-show residency in Las Vegas and released his ninth studio album.

In March, Usher was awarded Entertainer of the Year and the President’s Award at the NAACP Image Awards. During his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to the women who have supported him, saying, “They say behind or beside or with every strong man is a stronger woman, and for that I thank my mother and I thank my beautiful wife Jennifer for holding me down.”

Usher's influence on the music industry continues to be profound, and these recent honors reflect his enduring legacy as an artist and cultural icon.
