Hip-hop star 6ix9ine has denied allegations that he assaulted his girlfriend Yailin La Más Viral, a rapper and singer from the Dominican Republic. He also shared videos of her threatening him with a knife and hitting him and his car.
The controversy began when Yailin posted photos of herself with bruises and cuts on her face and body, which she said were caused by 6ix9ine. She later confirmed this on a local radio station, saying that the rapper had been abusive towards her for months.
6ix9ine, who now lives in the Dominican Republic, responded by posting a long video on Instagram, in which he spoke in Spanish and claimed that Yailin was not well and needed help. He said that he had loved and cared for her, and that he would never lay his hands on a woman, especially since he was on probation.
He also accused Yailin of using him for publicity and said that he wanted to keep the matter private. He said that she was going through postpartum depression and that he had tried to protect her from the media.
He then posted another video of Yailin confronting him with a knife in his home, as well as other clips of her attacking him and damaging his car. He said that these incidents had happened before and that he had never retaliated.
6ix9ine has a history of violence towards women. He previously accepted a plea deal after being involved in a sexual performance with a 13-year-old girl when filming a music video. He denied knowing the girl was underage.
He was also accused of sexual assault and domestic abuse by his ex-girlfriend Sara Molina, who said that he had beaten her for seven years. He admitted to this in court as part of his cooperation deal with the federal authorities.
Earlier this year, he was arrested in the Dominican Republic for assaulting two music producers who had allegedly stolen his money.
