Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are opening up about a recent spat that almost drove them apart.

The former GMA3 co-hosts, who went public with their relationship in November 2022, revealed on their podcast that they had a heated argument over Holmes’ tendency to stay up late and cook at midnight.

The incident happened on Dec. 16, when Robach was ready to go to bed and Holmes decided to whip up a meal in the kitchen. Robach said she was “frustrated” and asked him to join her in bed, but he refused.

“We can tell y’all that there has been one night that Robach and I have spent apart that can specifically be blamed and attributed to a fight that we had,” Holmes said on the podcast.

Robach added that the fight “sent me over the edge” and that she left the apartment and checked into a hotel for the night.

The couple said they were both “emotionally exhausted” and “not at our best” that night, and that they let a “small” issue escalate into a bigger problem. They also blamed the “holiday stress” for adding to their tension.

The next day, they apologized to each other and reconciled. They said they learned a valuable lesson from the experience and that they are still committed to each other.

“We love each other. We’re in this for the long haul. We’re not perfect. We’re human. We make mistakes. We have fights. But we always come back together,” Robach said.

Holmes agreed and said he would try to be more considerate of Robach’s sleep schedule.

“I love you, baby. And I’m sorry for keeping you up. And I’m sorry for making you mad. And I’m sorry for making you leave. And I’m sorry for everything. And I’m going to do better. I promise,” he said.

The two ended the podcast with a kiss and a hug, and thanked their listeners for their support.
