Prince William and Kate Middleton have sparked speculation that they may send their eldest son, Prince George, to Marlborough College, the same school that the Duchess of Cambridge attended.

The royal couple were spotted visiting the £47,000-a-year co-educational boarding school in Wiltshire for the second time in two months, according to sources.

They reportedly spent two hours touring the campus and meeting with staff and pupils on Friday, December 15, 2023.

A source told The Sun: "William and Kate have recently visited the school again and met some of the teachers and pupils. They were very impressed by the facilities and the atmosphere. They are keen to give George a normal education and a different experience from their own."

Marlborough College, founded in 1843, is one of the most prestigious schools in the country, with alumni including the poet Siegfried Sassoon, the novelist John le Carré, and the former Prime Minister Sir John Major.

Kate Middleton attended the school from 1995 to 2000, where she excelled in sports and academics. She was also a prefect and a hockey captain.

Prince William, on the other hand, followed the tradition of his father and brother by going to Eton College, the exclusive single-sex school in Berkshire.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have previously expressed their desire to give their children a normal upbringing, despite their royal status.

They currently live in Kensington Palace, but also spend time at their country home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk.

Prince George, who is third in line to the throne, is seven years old and attends Thomas's Battersea, a private day school in London. He is expected to move to a boarding school when he turns 13.

His younger siblings, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, three, also go to Thomas's Battersea.

The royal family has not confirmed or denied the rumours about Prince George's future school, but a spokesperson said: "We do not comment on speculation about the education of Prince William and Kate's children."
