Hit-Boy is one of the most acclaimed producers in the game, having worked with artists like Kanye West, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Drake, Kendrick Lamar and more. But the Grammy-winning beatmaker still gets excited when he receives props from his idols, especially the legendary Nas.
The Illmatic rapper recently showed some love to Hit-Boy after he shared a video of his father, Big Hit, working out while his latest music video with The Game, "Family Not Friends", played on a television screen in front of him. The clip, which was posted on Instagram on Monday (January 1), also featured a cameo from Nas himself, who praised Hit-Boy's skills and legacy.
"Hit-Boy, you a beast, man. You a legend in the making. You already a legend, but you know what I mean. You got the juice, man. You got the sauce. You got the flavor. You got the swag. You got the vibe. You got the vision. You got the ear. You got the touch. You got the magic, man. You got it all, bro. Salute to you and your pops, man. That's love right there. That's real. That's family. That's hip hop. That's what it's all about, man. Keep doing your thing, bro. Much respect, much love, much success. Peace", Nas said in the video.
Hit-Boy was clearly humbled by the shoutout, as he captioned the post: "Nasir Jones showing love to me and pops. This is why I do this shit. Thank you God". The post received tons of praise from some of the biggest names in hip hop and beyond, such as DJ Premier, Meek Mill, Paul Wall, Big Sean, Ty Dolla $ign, Benny The Butcher, Royce Da 5'9", Rapsody, Hitmaka, Boi-1da and more, who all congratulated Hit-Boy and his father on their achievements and relationship.
Hit-Boy has been on a roll lately, producing some of the most acclaimed albums of the past year, such as Nas' King's Disease, Big Sean's Detroit 2, Benny The Butcher's Burden Of Proof and Freddie Gibbs' Alfredo. He also released his own solo album, The Chauncey Hollis Project, and a collaborative project with Dom Kennedy, Also Known As Courtesy Of Half-A-Mil. He is currently working on the sequel to King's Disease, as well as new music with Drake, J. Cole, Nipsey Hussle and more. He is also nominated for three Grammy Awards this year, including Best Rap Album for King's Disease and Alfredo.
