Kanye West, also known as Ye, has released his new album Vultures Volume 1, the first of a trilogy of collaborative projects with singer and producer Ty Dolla $ign. The album features 12 tracks and includes name-drops of several celebrities, such as Diddy, R. Kelly, Taylor Swift, Drake, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and more.
Ye hosted a listening party at the United Center in Chicago on Thursday night (February 8), where he played the album in full for a crowd of fans and media. The event also featured a replica of his childhood home, a wedding dress worn by his estranged wife Kim Kardashian, and a surprise appearance by controversial singer Marilyn Manson, who is facing multiple allegations of sexual abuse.
The album is a departure from Ye's previous gospel-inspired work, such as Jesus Is King and Donda, and marks a return to his rap roots. The album's title, Vultures, is a reference to the media and critics who have scrutinized his personal and professional life, as well as his mental health. Ye also addresses his ongoing divorce from Kardashian, his failed presidential bid, his feud with Swift, and his support for former President Donald Trump.
Ty Dolla $ign, who has worked with Ye on several songs in the past, such as Fade, Real Friends, and Ego Death, serves as the executive producer and featured artist on the album. He also co-wrote and co-produced most of the tracks, along with other collaborators such as Mike Dean, Boi-1da, Hit-Boy, and The Neptunes.
Vultures Volume 1 is available on all streaming platforms now. The release date for the second and third volumes of the trilogy has not been announced yet.
