Former NFL star and convicted felon O.J. Simpson has taken to social media to dispel rumors that he is in hospice care, amid reports that he is undergoing cancer treatment.
In a video posted on his Twitter account on Friday, Simpson is seen laughing in his car in Las Vegas, saying that he is “feeling great” and “still playing golf”.
“I’m not in hospice. I’m not dying,” Simpson says in the clip, which has been viewed over 2 million times. “Don’t believe the BS. I’m doing fine.”
Simpson, 74, does not address the claims that he is battling prostate cancer, which were first reported by Radar Online last month. The outlet cited an unnamed source who said that Simpson was “in agony” and had “only months to live”.
Simpson’s video comes just days after he made headlines for making a shocking joke about his infamous murder trial on a podcast. Simpson, who was acquitted of killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman in 1995, appeared on the “Pardon My Take” podcast on Monday and joked that he had “a little getting even to do” with the hosts.
Simpson, who spent nine years in prison for armed robbery and kidnapping, has maintained his innocence in the murders, despite overwhelming evidence against him. He was found liable for the deaths in a civil trial in 1997 and ordered to pay $33.5 million to the victims’ families.
Simpson, who lives in a gated community in Nevada, has been active on social media since his release from prison in 2017, posting videos and photos of himself golfing, watching sports, and hanging out with friends.
