In an exciting fusion of music and visual art, power couple Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys are set to unveil their extensive art collection in a massive coffee table book. The book, titled “Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys,” will be published by Phaidon Books and is scheduled for release in June 2024.
The heart of this project lies in the couple’s passion for collecting art that resonates with them. In their own words:
“Our strategy is collecting from the heart. You know, a lot of people call us Black collectors. We’re art collectors, and we happen to be Black. We collect artists from all over the world. The reason why we double down on artists of color is because our own community wasn’t collecting these giants.”
The book not only showcases their remarkable collection but also features an exclusive interview with Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys. Kimberli Gant, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Brooklyn Museum, conducts the interview, delving into the couple’s artistic journey and their commitment to supporting artists of color.
Coinciding with the book release, the Brooklyn Museum hosts an exhibition of Swizz and Alicia’s art collection. The exhibition, also titled “Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys,” runs from February 10 to July 7. Visitors can immerse themselves in over 100 works by emerging and established Black artists, celebrating creativity and cultural diversity.
Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys continue to expand their creative horizons beyond music. From their legendary careers to their philanthropic efforts, their impact extends far beyond the stage and canvas. As the coffee table book unfolds, readers and art enthusiasts alike will gain insight into their artistic vision and the vibrant world of contemporary art.
Our anticipation grows as we await the release of this monumental book, a testament to the couple’s unwavering commitment to art and its transformative power.
