Demi Moore delivered a stern rebuke to a disruptive audience member at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala in Cannes, France. The incident occurred on Thursday night as the "Ghost" actress introduced the iconic Cher.

Moore, 61, was in the midst of a glowing tribute to Cher, 78, when the disruption took place. The event, held at the Hotel du Cap, Eden Roc, featured some of the world's biggest stars and aimed to raise funds for AIDS research.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Vanity Fair's Ramin Setoodeh, Moore can be seen addressing the audience. “I’m going to see if this is the moment we’ve all been waiting for,” she began, only to be met with lukewarm cheers. She continued, “I’m just making sure that you’re really, really with me.”

The interruption occurred just as Moore listed Cher's numerous accolades. She paused and directly addressed the audience member, “Are you an Emmy winner over there in the back of the room? I f–king don’t think so.” The remark drew laughter and applause from the crowd.

Despite the disruption, Moore seamlessly continued her introduction, highlighting Cher’s achievements and her status as a style icon. “She’s a Grammy winner, an Oscar winner, an Emmy winner,” Moore said. “And she was honored by amfAR for their award of inspiration in 2015.”

The gala, marking its 30th year, was a star-studded affair with attendees including Michelle Yeoh, Heidi Klum, Kelly Rowland, Andie MacDowell, Diane Kruger, and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York. The evening was filled with memorable moments, including Rowland’s own confrontation earlier in the week with a female security guard on the red carpet.

Moore's film “The Substance” also made waves at the Cannes Film Festival, adding to her notable presence at the event. The amfAR gala remains a significant event, blending Hollywood glamour with philanthropy, and continues to be a highlight of the Cannes Film Festival calendar.
